A1 North Pit: adult Mediterranean Gull flew over calling.

Island Pit: male Whinchat in NW corner of pit, plus Cetti's Warbler singing.

Heron Trail: male Pochard on Heronry South and female Goldeneye on Heronry North.

Great Meadow: female Marsh Harrier flew NNE at c.08:05. Also Sparrowhawk and Cuckoo singing.

Visitors' Centre: Kingfisher flew through car park, 'Black' Squirrel on feeders.

Great Meadow: male Cuckoo & Barn Owl this morning, plus 3 Sparrowhawks.

Washout Pit: Garden Warbler singing.

Island Pit: 2 summer-plumaged BLACK-NECKED GREBES. Also Arctic Tern, singing Reed Warbler and Lesser Whitethroat.

Heronry South/Great Meadow: WOODLARK again in same area early morning, but not again afterwards. LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER again around basin area early morning, then headed off towards Haul Road. 3+ Goldeneye still. 2 singing Cuckoos. 12 Nightingales noted around reserve, including this colour-ringed individual (below):

A1 North Pit: Lesser Whitethroat singing.

Visitors' Centre: Lesser Whitethroat singing near mound at Fisherman's car park. Also Grasshopper Warbler singing nearby.

Boughton Lodge Farm: Green Sandpiper and Kingfisher, Lesser Whitethroat.

Meadow Trail: Little Egret flew over heading towards Hayling Pit.

Heronry South: male LESSER SPOTTED WOODPECKER in dead tree, just beyond the Education Centre at c.10:30, then flew towards Haul Road.

Great Meadow/Heronry South: male WOODLARK showing well throughout day favouring mossy ground behind basin area (at north western end of Great Meadow), often nearby to track. Also Osprey flew north above river.

Island Pit: 2 Swifts.

Hayling Pit: House Martin.

Ouse Valley Way: male and female REDSTART reported.

Washout Pit: Water Rail.

Little Paxton village: female REDSTART flew across road near Mass Consultants offices.

A1 North Pit: male RING OUZEL late morning along northernmost track on east side of pit.

Island Pit: male REDSTART at south east end of pit throughout day. Also Whitethroat.

Heronry Trail: 3 singing Nightingales (1 Wray House Garden, 1 Rory's Wood, 1 Fisherman's car park), Whitethroat.

Sailing Lake: Grasshopper Warbler briefly flitting through undergrowth in NW corner of lake, plus Water Rail. Nightingale singing on west side.

Visitors' Centre: 6 Lesser Redpolls still around feeders.

Male Redstart, Island Pit.

Meadow Trail: 4+ singing Chiffchaffs, singing Cetti's Warbler, 8 Lesser Redpolls.

Great Meadow: Yellow Wagtail flew north, singing Blackcap and c.12 Redwings.

Heronry Pits: 4 Goldeneye on Heronry North, 3 singing Chiffchaffs, plus singing Goldcrest.

Sailing Lake: Swallow flew NW in evening.

Little Paxton village: 11 WAXWINGS still around junction of Ramply Close and Park Drive today.

Little Paxton village: 11 WAXWINGS in trees on the corner of Ramply Close/Park Side and seen feeding on Rosehips.

Meadow trail: c.25 Redwings flew low NE just prior to dusk.

Cloudy Pit: Water Rail showing well at north end of pit in evening.

Hayling Pit: Cetti's Warbler heard, also Chiffchaff singing.

Great Meadow: 2 Little Egrets flew north, 7 Redwing feeding in scrubby area behind basin, 2 Chiffchaffs singing.

Visitors' Centre: c.25 Redpolls around this morning.

Heron Trail: juvenile Whooper Swan over.

Meadow trail: Cetti's Warbler, Chiffchaff, plus Sand Martin over the Visitors' Centre.

Heronry South: male and female Smew; 4 Chiffchaffs.

Island Pit: redhead Smew and 3 Goosander, 1+ Chiffchaff.

Hayling Pit: Willow Warbler.

Boughton Lodge Farm: Green Sandpiper, small numbers of Redwing and Fieldfare.

Moorings: Green Sandpiper flew south; pair of Shelduck on flooded field on opposite side of river.

Sailing Lake: female Brambling.
