Today's Breeding Bird Survey team hadn't all reported back when I left, but the highlights we heard about included cuckoo, nightingale, Cetti's warbler, sand martin, swallow, willow warbler, black-cap, chiffchaff, treecreeper and a possible garden warbler. We also heard toads croaking in several places. A barn owl pellet retrieved on the previous count from the meadow, contained wood mice and field voles.
Thanks to all who took part this morning.
